Liu Aiying, female, born in 1971, is the director and Party secretary of a local neighborhood committee in Beijing's Chaoyang District.
Liu, together with other CPC members in her community, served the residents wholeheartedly when the SARS epidemic struck the city in 2003. She made great efforts to help solve problems the community faced over the past 10 years, such as litter, inconvenience for the disabled due to lack of barrier-free facilities and intrusive noise from the Beijing-Chengde Highway.
Liu settles disputes among residents, and organized training programs to help laid-off workers in the community to find new jobs. She also launched rehabilitation projects for the disabled, who now lead a more productive life and fulfill their dream of earning their own living. The village-turned community, which used to be in a chaotic condition, now has a new look thanks to Liu's huge efforts.
