A man caused panic when he walked around his neighborhood dressed as a soldier, Beijing Times reported on Wednesday. He wore camouflage clothing, a tactical vest and a balaclava, and carried a dagger and imitation gun. Several alarmed neighbors called the police.
The man is fascinated by the military, but failed to qualify for the army for health reasons. He said he was "trying to have a more vivid experience as a soldier", and did not intend to hurt anyone. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a year's probation.
