Intercity buses running between Beijing and Fengning, a county in Chengde city, North China’s Hebei province, were brought into operation on Dec 31.
Following Luanping and Xinglong, Fengning is the third county that has intercity buses for commuters from Chengde to the capital city.
With the operation of these cross-city bus lines, the county which boasts beautiful grassland scenery and paper-cutting, a traditional folk art in China, hopes to attract more tourists from Beijing.
The intercity bus runs between a temporary bus station in Xuanliang Building Center in Fengning and Wangjing West Station subway station in northeast Beijing’s Chaoyang district. It has only one stop in Huairou district.
Commuters can take the bus between 06:40 and 16:40 and the 160 kilometer-long route takes them about three hours and costs 38 yuan ($6.2) for a single ticket if using cash.
