Beijing has made great strides in boosting electric vehicle development, but construction of battery charging facilities for new energy passenger cars still faces a bottleneck. The generous subsidies and increasing the quota for electric vehicle plates still have not quite dispersed buyers' doubts.
Dong Shuangliang, a political advisor from Shougang Group, believes that the fundamental reason behind difficulties in promoting the use of new energy passenger cars is battery endurance, as well as battery charging facility distribution and construction, especially of the self-use battery charging facilities.
Some buyers couldn't have battery charging facility installed in their communities after they bought electric vehicles months ago.
Dong said that the country should formulate standards for new energy passenger cars battery, and a large number of battery charging stations should be built to solve the relevant problems. Certain costs will be imposed for battery change and battery will be recycled.
Battery charging should be made as easy as refueling to boost the use of new energy passenger cars, said Dong.
