Zhu Yu is known as one of the most controversial conceptual artists in China. He prompted great debate when he used dead bodies in his works more than 10 years ago. He then separated himself from the outside world and devoted himself to painting as a self-healing process. The paintings created during this period are on display at his latest solo show, Separation. The Left-overs series and Tea Stain series help viewers to get closer to the way Zhu thinks and works.
