As part of the French component of the International Film Festival of Beijing, the Embassy of France in China, the Institut français, uniFrance and Broadway Cinematheque Moma presented the exhibition, Portraits of Actresses, by Kate Barry. This original exhibition was produced by the Institut français in partnership with Roman de Kermadec, the artist's son, and under the direction of the photographer and journalist Aline Arlettaz.
The exhibition presented 25 portraits of film actresses in an indefinable atmosphere, silent and melancholy, which unite austerity and precision of composition with the direction of the subjects and their settings. [Photo by Yu Yao/chinadaly.com.cn]
