An environmental monitoring app based on real-time big data processing was launched yesterday in Beijing.

The “Blue Map” App, launched jointly by the Institute of Public & Environmental Affairs, the society of Entrepreneurs & Ecology, and the Alibaba Foundation, will enable the public to inquire in real time about air and water quality in more than 280 cities nationwide.
People can also inquire about the data of exhaust gas and waste water discharged by more than 9,000 enterprises in China.
The App is based on the processing technology of the Alibaba Cloud Computing platform.
