A prestigious entrepreneur said China should establish an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, as he delivered the keynote speech on the 18th China Beijing International High-tech Expo(CHITEC).
Innovation and entrepreneurship should evolve and develop constantly, that’s where an ecosystem featuring self-growth comes in, Xu Jinghong, chairman of Tsinghua Holdings, said.
Xu said China has entered the golden age of mass entrepreneurship .
The Internet has fundamentally transformed interpersonal communications, and the exchange of things, he said, which bring “unprecedented opportunities” to entrepreneurs.
“For the post-80 generation, we say ‘daddy is the key’, but for those post-90 entrepreneurs, whether they come from the grassroots level or belong to elite groups, they are on the same page,” Xu said.
The Chinese government has released a series of favorable policies to support innovation and entrepreneurship in recent years, which has greatly helped free China’s economy from the shackles of state-owned monopolies.
Xu said China should promote better interactions between finance and the real economy.
“Without innovative capital, Microsoft, Apple, Alibaba and Xiaomi would never exist,” Xu said, “JD.com is still in the red despite sales valuing more than 200 billion yuan last year, which was unimaginable in the past, but the support of capital pushes forward this business model as we see its value in the future.”
Tsinghua Holdings is a pioneer in pushing forwardentrepreneurship and innovation. It established Tsinghua Science Park, one of the earliest business incubators in China, two decades ago in Zhongguancun.
Z-Innoway, a nesting hub for makers where Premier Li Keqiang visited last week, is jointly planned and operated by a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings and Haidian district.
