The Universal Studios will start construction on its first theme park in China this autumn, according to an announcement issued by Tongzhou district in Beijing.
The park, situated in Tongzhou district in suburban Beijing, will be the sixth Universal Studios theme park in the world and the third in Asia.
It will also be the largest in the world, with an area of 1.2 square kilometers, twice the size of the Universal Studios theme park in Osaka
The park is to be completed in 2019, with a total investment of more than 20 billion yuan ($3.24 billion).
