Faded Monologue, a realism work of dance, is specially created for the opening of Beijing Dance Festival by MA Bo, the well-known choreographer from Beijing Dance/LDTX. "Tener" and "sentimental" are not always suitable words to describe women in an era where women are mainly praised for their toughness. How many of these women who are considered strong can be their true selves? In Faded Monologue, the choreographer is searching for a pure spiritual territory where she will expose reality, explore humanity, and express her inner world with sense and sensibility.

Andre and Dorine

In a small room where memories hung over the walls, sound the keys of a type writer and the notes of a cello. They are Andr�� and Dorine, an elderly couple that lives just like many old couples do: gently decaying from routine and neglect, with passion once so huge for each other now fading into indifference. But an event comes to break the monotony: Alzheimer's, our greatest antagonist, devourer of memories and of identity itself. And so begins a fresh start in their relation ship. A journey through memory. The couple needs to remember who they were, so as not to forget who they are now. Remember how they loved in order to keep loving each other.

Donizetti's L'elisir d'Amore

The story takes place in a small Italian village about two centuries ago. A poor peasant Nemorino is in love with Adina but the beautiful landowner torments Nemorino with her indifference. Nemorino is also afraid she loves the self-important Sergeant Belcore who appears with his regiment and immediately proposes marriage to Adina in front of everyone. The traveling quack salesman, Dulcamara arrives, selling his bottled 'love potion' to the townspeople. Nemorino drinks it, feeling its effects immediately. His confidence that he will win Adina causes him to act indifferently toward her. This upsets Adina and she ups the ante as well by agreeing to Sergeant Belcore's alternate suggestion: that they marry immediately as he has just received orders that the regiment must ship off the next morning. Nemorino realizes that he has lost Adina. He sees the Doctor and begs him for another 'love potion'. When Nemorino says he has no money Belcore immediately suggests that if he joins the army he'll be paid immediately. When Nemorino says he's seeking a better life in the army, Adina responds by telling him he is loved and that she has purchased his military contract. Seeing the two in an embrace, the Sergeant leaves. Dr. Dulcamara's potion makes him a rich man.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is coming to enjoy its summer vocation with children in China! Adopted from a classic best-selling picture book, this innovative black-light puppetry will present its first show in Beijing. This caterpillar who has a red head, a green body and walks with its back arches high is created by Eric Carle, an internationally acclaimed children's literature author, in his vivid classic picture book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The book has made a great hit throughout the world for 45 years with a book circulation over 20 million, and the caterpillar has already flown from the picture book to stage. To date, over 3000 performances have been presented, capturing children's hearts in many countries. The puppetry will be performed by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia with great passion and its Chinese version is dubbed by Dashan - "the most famous foreigner in China". The show is a moving fairy tale book presented on the stage, enabling children to grow with the caterpillar into a butterfly, which is surely an amazing experience with black-light puppetry. Black-light puppetry treats light and color with special techniques so as to create fantasy effects. With only the light in front of the stage on, the actors wearing black costumes or clothes seem almost invisible against a stage background of total black. During the performance, the stage will boast with a variety of fantastic and gorgeous images because of the fluorescence-coated properties in actors' hands or the colors painted on actors' bodies.

Started in 2012, FEIGE is now the largest Vintage Fair in Beijing. Our fair features the finest vintage traders around China, with goods spanning the period 1920-1990. This Summer Feige Weekend Bazaar is organized exclusively around Beijing. Tour de France 2015

The Tour de France is an annual multiple stage bicycle race, watch live at Paddy's 102th edition of the race. In 1904 twelve riders, including winner Maurice Garin and all the stage winners, were disqualified for various reasons including illegal use of cars and trains. In 1990 the organisers learned of a blockade by farmers in the Limoges area and diverted the race before it got there. In 1991 riders refused to race for 40 minutes because a rider, Urs Zimmerman, was penalised for driving from one stage finish to the start of the next instead of flying.
