About one hundred State-owned enterprises in Beijing will open their doors to the public on May 14, giving people an opportunity to have an in-depth look at companies close to their daily life.
To help people gain a better understanding of the development of these enterprises, the event's organizers have designed more than 100 tour lines for the public to choose from.
This is the first time State-owned enterprises in Beijing have made such a group appearance, showcasing their history, culture, production processes, and development blueprints.
To date, 49 group companies with their 104 subsidiaries, in commerce, construction, real estate, traffic, agriculture and museums, have determined to participate in the "open day".
Citizens can apply for a chance to visit on the website www.qianlong.com or through the Beijing Youth League's community organizations. Enterprises can also organize tours for their customers, staff family members and nearby residents.
Organizers encourage media, experts and influential people with blogs to join the tours and expand the "open day" effect.
The event will be broadcast live on radio, TV and websites. The organizers will also hold an essay activity and photography contest for the "open day".
The organizers include the Beijing municipal Party Committee Publicity Department, the Capital Civilization Office, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Beijing, the Beijing municipal Education Committee, the Communist Youth League Beijing Committee and the State Council State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission news center.
