The 4th Beijing Forest Concert was held in Beijing Xinshan National Forest Park on May 21st with themes of ‘Green days in the forest’ and ‘For forest, for prairie, for ecology’. It attracted many visitors eager to get close to nature while listening to music.
It’s the fourth time Beijing Xishan National Forest Park has held the concert. The goal was to allow visitors to feel close to the forest, to be aware of and understand it, and become more aware of the need to protect it.
This concert provided not only music, but science as well. Visitors learned about a forest’s reduction of carbon in the air, the culture of forest life, and climate change through panel presentations with interactive questions and answers. The concert tried to improve awareness of energy conservation and the natural world, to build a better homeland.
Beijing Xishan National Forest Park is the biggest national forest park, and the closest to Beijing. Its total area is 5,926 hectares. There are 24 local forest parks, 71 countryside parks, and 20 nature protection areas in Beijing, and more than a million hectares of forest are being cultivated to create natural and restful areas.
