On June 1, an electronic design automation (EDA) platform, constructed by Zhongguancun Chip Park (Beijing) Co, started on-line operations. It is the only platform with an EDA commercial license in North China, and will provide services for integrated circuit (IC) design companies.
Construction of the EDA platform began with Zhongguancun Chip Park's building new standard computer rooms, structuring hardware and webwork, and creating a license resource management system. When taking those steps the company turned to its customers, IC design companies, to talk about their needs and to work out a reasonable allocation of EDA tool resources, such as Cadence and Mentor.
This EDA platform, equipped with a catalogue of internationally famous software tools, will provide support for IC design companies in Chinese mainland (excluding Shenzhen and Shanghai) to help them finish their whole design process. Services will be tailored for customers in terms of their scale of production and stage of design to lower their cost and risks in their day-to-day research and development.
More efforts will soon be made to train people to use EDA tools and cultivate more IC design and technique development.
