The Zhongguancun area of Beijing, one of China's top high-tech innovation sites, now has a smart manufacturing street -- "I. M. WAY" -- to support smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, intelligent hardware and related industries with a complete service chain covering design, R&D, manufacturing, testing and trial runs, and market promotion.
It is located close to a number of universities, a science park and high-tech enterprises and is expected to promote the commercialization of research results and to provide opportunities for going from innovation to business with support services.
It is also expected to introduce 10,000 projects within three years and to have a market turnover reaching 100 billion yuan and has already attracted domestic and international high-tech companies, including the world‘s leader in incubators, Plug & Play, and expects to bring in projects from the US’s Silicon Valley.
During the construction work, the street was provided with abundant technology, from sensor lights to water-saving sprinklers and it can even serve as a popular science base for primary and high school students, since it has a special lab with 3-D printing and other machines to allow students to try their hand at innovation.
