The landmark stone inauguration ceremony was the start of a culture and sports festival which will last until Sept 23. The series of activities intends to further promote the diverse array of Beijing cultures present in Dashilar District, integrate traditional culture into people's daily life, and create a Dashilar traditional culture brand.
Five sections are included during the festival: the inauguration of the Peking Opera birthplace landmark stone, a folk art performance, a treasure hunt contest, a mini hutong marathon, and a hutong photo exhibition.
