Li Yuan, vice-general manager of Beijing Global Safety Technology Co., Ltd.’s Wuhan branch
Li Yuan joined Beijing Global Safety Technology Co.,Ltd in 2010 and is now the vice-president of Global Safety’s Wuhan branch as well as the leading official of its Wuhan R&D center. Li has 15-years’ experience in software and system integration and has rich experience in R&D and management.
In 2011, Global Safety undertook the design and construction of Ecuador’s national security command system (ECU911), which was the company’s first export project as well as the first super large-scaled nation-wide system. Li led an R&D group of less-than-20 people to undertake the research and development of the project’s key software. By his technical skills and management ability, Li and his group finished the software’s R&D work within five months, strengthening the company’s superiority in the emergency response field and making a breakthrough in warning signal technology.
The project was accomplished in December 2011. Ecuador’s President highly praised the project and hoped it would play a full role in safety protection. As the President wished, the ECU911 system effectively disposed of many emergent situations, and greatly improved public security. According to People’s Daily, by the end of 2014, the ECU911 system had in total responded to more than 34,000,000 incidents and saved 8,000 lives; the response time was shortened to about 10 minutes from 2 hours, ranking Ecuador’s security system 4th in Latin America.
In the follow years, Li Yuan led his team to finish the system’s construction and to upgrade it in 16 important Ecuadorian sites. In April, 2016, when an earthquake hit Ecuador, the security system operated steadily and effectively safeguarded people’s lives and property.
With the development of the company, Li’s team grew from ten people to more than 100. His team developed a new product based on the ECU911 project, which was used in Venezuela’s SIMA project and Trinidad and Tobago’s NOC project. He led his team in developing a GIS platform for public service, which has become an important supporting technology for the company. He improved working methods and upgraded efficiency to shorten the debug cycle from 45 days to seven, and the inspection period from two days to two hours.
Li Yuan and his team are now applying their successful foreign experience to the construction of domestic projects.
