Zhao Qing, general manager of TusWater Group Limited
Zhao Qing, the manager of TusWater Group, led a team to reform the existing lithium chlorate manufacturing process so as to improve applications of the so-called “strategic metal”, lithium. The environmental protection industry had been both a severe challenge and a promising sunrise industry for Tuswater since 2013, when it took its very first step into this field. An unsolved issue for the group was how to enhance core competence through technological innovation. Zhao noticed that new energy vehicles, like Tesla, use li battery technology, and began to take it very seriously.
In 2014, he and his team started to examine how to extract and purify lithium chlorate in Qinghai. After a long and arduous struggle and innumerable defeats, they cracked the problem at the end of 2014. However, they decided not to collaborate with a local enterprise, Salt Lake Group, at that time. Zhao and his team chose instead to develop forward-looking developmental plans, and in March, 2016 reached an agreement for cooperation.
