On Dec 14, China’s e-reader producer ‘iReader’ signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Dream Show, a new leader in China’s live streaming industry, to launch a new business model - live streaming + Intellectual Property (IP) on the basis of intellectual property in culture and entertainment sectors.
As announced, the two sides will launch 100 IP products and 100 high quality entertainment programs, and 300 network shows and network films will be invested in throughout 2017.
It is the first whole industrial chain cooperation of IP, content and star-making sectors in the industry.
2016 has been a big year for China’s live streaming industry, Wu Yunsong, director of Dream Show, noted. “High quality content is the foundation of the whole industry development,” he said. “The agreement shows the strategy of integrating live streaming and IP products, and we will improve our ability of content providing and output via the cooperation.”
iReader, a content provider, views the cooperation as a new opportunity to serve its authors a higher platform, and incubating good IP works by live streaming, such as live advertising.
“Live-streaming apps have surged in popularity in China. Together with Dream Show, we hope to bring users a new reading experience by combining IP and live streaming,” Wang Liang, co-founder of iReader said.
