Following the Chaoyang District Two Sessions, held on Dec 20 in Beijing, Chaoyang will continue to support the relocation of non-capital functions in terms of transportation and greener environmental development in 2017.
Transportation
“The upgrading of Huagong Road will be a substantial connecting channel between the southeast 2nd Ring and the 5th Ring,” said an official from the Chaoyang District Commission of City Management, who added that a new two-way six-lane arterial road will also ease the traffic pressures.
Shuangqiao Road and Shuangqiao East Road will also be widened accordingly. Multiple payment methods will be applied to the parking lots along the Dongdaqiao Road including through digital formats like WeChat and Alipay’s all-in-one and debit card.
Environment
The Chaoyang District Greening Administration said, “As a green channel link to the sub-center, landscape construction projects along the Chang’an Street, Guangqv Road, Chaoyang Road and Chaoyang East Road will be priorities for the upcoming year.”
The landscape construction project along the Guangqv Road, with a total length of 14 kilometers begins at the Guangqvmen Bridge in the west and reaches the district boundary. It will be completed in the middle of 2017.
Greening
“Ten old residential areas including the Jingsong Nongguangli Community, the Jiuxian Bridge Tuofangyingli Community and the Liulitundao Community will be beatified and reach an area of 5.3 acres in 2017,” said an official from the Chaoyang District Greening Administration.
In addition, the roof greening project will also be launched next year, and is set to total 20,000 kilometers.
