Over 50 hospitals in Beijing work together with 150 medical institutions in Tianjin and Hebei province, developing intercity hospital access and construction. Branches of Beijing No. 5 High School, Beijing Bayi School and Shijia Primary School are being built, and quality healthcare and education resources are being exported from Beijing to Heibei province and Tianjin.
During the central media survey trip on coordinative development of Beijing, Tianjin and Heibei province, Cai Qi, mayor of Beijing, said that collaborative development lies the sharing of common achievements amongst the three places, which will successfully direct the distribution of Beijing’s quality public service resources in Tianjin and Hebei province.
Beijing medical treatment settles in Hebei Province
Cai Qi noted that Beijing and Hebei Province recently signed a service agreement for direct medical insurance services. Hebei’s Yanda Hospital opened the first domestic intercity system, making Beijing and Hebei province the first to support intercity access to medical treatment.
The mutual recognition of clinical testing results in the three places has begun with confirmation of the first batch of 27 projects and 132 medical institutions.
Regarding intercity cooperation, Beijing Children’s Hospital, Capital Medical University hosts Heibei province’s Baoding Children’s Hospital. Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences works closely with various cancer departments within Hebei province’s hospitals. Beijing’s Jishuitan Hospital has also shown cooperative intentions to Chongli People’s hospital.
In view of Beijing’s medical resources allocation, the second construction phase of Beijing Tongren Hospital’s Yizhuang branch, is progressing smoothly. The new Beijing Tian Tan Hospital will come into use by the end of year, and a further 11 key projects, including Peking University Hospital’s south branch will be carried out soon. In addition, the health care zone composed of Peking University Hospital, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital and 33 other hospitals was built outside the fifth ring road creating a unique ‘hospital zone’.
Universities belonging to Beijing Municipal Government ease overwhelmed campuses
Cai Qi said that new campuses at Beijing City University, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Beijing Technology and Business University are being built quickly.
Beijing Film Academy’s new Huairou campus, the second phase of Liangxiang campus of Beijing Technology and Business University, and the new Changping campus of Beijing Information Science and Technology University are also set to begin construction. Beijing also supports a further nine universities like Beijing University of Posts and Communications, arranging their students to stay in the Shahe and Liangxiang higher education parks.
The three places continue to deepen their educational cooperation. In recent years, 21 cooperation agreements have been signed and more than 30 projects have been implemented.
In 2016, Beijing and Tianjin have trained more than 110,000 middle and primary school teachers for Hebei province and invested over 150 million yuan ($21.8 million).
Beijing uses over 3.5 billion yuan to help Hebei province eliminate poverty.
Beijing will offer help to 16 counties (or districts) of Hebei province including the eight counties in Zhangjiakou, two counties in Chengde and six counties in Baoding. Since the 12th five year plan, Beijing has invested 1.625 billion yuan and carried out eight kinds of supporting projects, including agricultural water-saving projects, water resource environmental protection, forest reserve construction of the ecological water, forest-fire prevention, joint prevention and control of forest pests and the construction of vegetable bases.
During the 13th five year plan, Beijing plans to invest 3.568 billion yuan in improving basic public services, deepening industrial trade and cooperation, strengthening eco-environment cooperation, promoting labor market cooperation and cultivating talents.
