Energy: Shanxi to invest in coal

Shanxi Province plans to invest 300 billion yuan in 222 key coal projects in the next five years. The province's Bureau of Coal Industry said it will consolidate the industry by encouraging large coal mining groups to restructure or merge with smaller competitors. (Shanghai Securities News)

Canadian integrated-energy company Husky Energy plans to drill an oil well 1,500 meters below the South China Sea starting at the end of April, said sources with Husky.
