Education: Anti over-charging (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-03-22 15:45 Chinese officials have urged that unreasonable
school fees should be further curbed to ease the burden of students.

Jinping, director of the Supervision Department with the Ministry of Education,
said the government has launched a campaign to curb over-charging, which is
rampant in parts of the country.
About 1.7 billion yuan (around
212.5 million U.S. dollars) in unreasonable school fees have been charged since
2003, according to Liu.
