China is considering measures to boost overseas car sales, which the
government hopes will become an increasingly important component of its exports,
officials and industry executives said.
Officials in Beijing and a Chinese industry executive said the government was
looking at boosting export credits and insurance for carmakers, as well as
providing greater assistance to companies conducting research and development on
their own brands.
The main reason behind the drive is official concern about overcapacity in
