Light Industry: TCL flat TV output (China Daily HK Edition) Updated: 2006-04-20 15:06
TCL Corp's television-making unit TTE Corp aims to triple its output of
flat-panel televisions to 1.5 million sets in 2006 in a bid to regain its
position as the world's top TV maker.
TTE created in 2004 when TCL pooled its local TV assets with the money-losing
ones of France's Thomson hopes to expand further in 2007 to 4 million units, and
then to 8 or 9 million by 2008, said Shawn Zhang, TTE's executive vice president
for global operations.
The brands of TCL holds TTE through its Hong Kong-listed affiliate TCL
Multimedia. (For more biz stories, please visit Industry Updates) |
