Cross-Straits business dialogue to be held during BFA (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-04-22 10:55 Entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan
will discuss how to realize common prosperity across the Taiwan Straits in Boao,
a small town in South China's Hainan Province, during the Boao Forum for Asia
(BFA) from April 21 to 23.
This is the first meeting of its kind since the BFA was founded in 2001, said
Long Yongtu, secretary-general of the BFA.
The meeting will be held on April 23 and topics will include "strengthening
economic cooperation" across the Taiwan Straits and "realizing a common
prosperity."
Heading a business delegation, Vincent Siew, Chairman of the Taiwan-based
Cross-Straits Common Market Foundation, is attending the annual conference.
Long said the BFA, as a non-government regional organization, can provide
opportunities for entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan to exchange
views and strengthen cooperation.
