China's farm produce price rose 2.4 percent year-on-year in the first three months of 2006, according to a survey released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday.

The producer prices of planting, forestry, and fishery grew 4.8 percent, 8.9 percent and 2.3 percent, and the producer prices in animal husbandry dropped 1.6 percent during the period, the NBS said.

The NBS said the figures were obtained from a survey of 31,000 agricultural production and management units throughout the country.
