China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd., the world's top cellular carrier by subscribers, has broadly matched forecasts with a 28 percent jump in quarterly earnings as it grabbed market share from smaller rival China Unicom Ltd. China Mobile , which controls about two-thirds of the Chinese cellular market, signed up 5.7 million new users in March.

Baidu.com Inc, China's top search engine, plans to move beyond its home market in the next few years in search of new business opportunities, its chief executive said April 21. "At the moment, Baidu will focus on strengthening its leading position in China," Baidu chief executive officer Robin Li said. "But in the long run, Baidu will seek opportunities in China's neighboring countries, especially in Asia. We'd like to have a try in the next few years."
