Top headset supplier opens plant in China

Plantronics Inc, the world's largest professional headset supplier, yesterday
announced the opening of its first China manufacturing complex, Plantronics
Communications Technology (Suzhou) Co Ltd in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu
Province.
The plant is wholly owned by Plantronics Inc and has a
registered capital of US$35 million, the project to date has cost US$23 million
for construction and the state of the art facilities which includes a design
centre.
"We aim to invest a total of US$100 million within 10 years,
including first phase costs," said Ken Kannappan, president and chief executive
officer of Plantronics.
