The retail price of gold ornaments hit a record 200 yuan (25 U.S. dollars)
per gram in the Chinese capital, the Economic Information Daily reported
Tuesday.
In the first trading day since the week-long May Day holiday which ended on
May 7, the trading price of gold with a purity of 99.95 percent closed at 175.58
yuan (21.95 dollars) per gram in the Shanghai Gold Exchange.
The trading price of gold with a purity of 99.99 percent closed at 175.67
