IT: China's laptop sales soar (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-05-25 10:31
A total of 922,200 laptops were sold in China in the first quarter of this
year, up 38.9 percent over last year, Wednesday's China Securities Journal
reports.
According to a report by the CCID Consulting, a famous
consulting company in China, the sales volume reached 8.951 billion yuan (1.1
billion U.S. dollars), up 23 percent on the previous year, much higher than the
growth rate of desktop computers and servers in the same period.
In
total, 5.29 million computers have been sold in China in the first quarter, up
15.9 percent. The sales volume was 30.597 billion yuan, up 5.14
