Trade: Tanzania, China trade up (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-06-09 16:03 Trade volumes between Tanzania
and China have grown by almost 70 percent last year to reach US$47 million,
according to the latest available statistics available in Dar Es Salaam on
Friday.
Bilateral trade increased by 66.9 percent to be exact as imports from China
to Tanzania posted a growth of 40.6 percent to reach US$30 million while exports
from Tanzania to China rose 150.1 percent to total US$17 million.
The tripled growth of Tanzanian exports of mainly cotton, gold and sisal to
China in the past year has been attributed to the Asian country's special
preferential tariff agreement being extended on 190 items from most
