Light Industry: Adidas eyes China (Shanghai Daily) Updated: 2006-06-12 13:50 Adidas AG expects sales
growth in China to help it overtake Nike Inc as the No. 1 sporting-goods maker,
Erich Stamminger, management board member in charge of the three-stripe brand,
told WirtschaftsWoche. The company targets Adidas brand sales of 1 billion euros
(US$1.26 billion) in China by 2010, Stamminger told the magazine. If China and
Japan continue developing as they are now, they will probably be the world's
second and third-biggest markets for sporting goods after the United States in
2010, he said. (For more biz stories, please visit Industry Updates)
