China's investments in fixed assets have increased notably, while consumption
demand appears weak. The total demand has not increased on a general basis,
which is a prominent problem in the operation of China's macroeconomy, the
Information Times reported.
Professor Liu Wei, Dean of the College of Economics of Peking University said
recently at a special lecture held by the Financial Department of Guangdong
Province, that there were several problems existing in the Chinese economy
although it might jump to rank the fourth largest economic entity in the world.
According to statistics, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of China has remained
