Macro Economy: May investment growth (ce.cn) Updated: 2006-06-16 11:11
Annual growth in Chinese fixed-asset investment will probably show a dip in
May from the first four months of the year but spending growth will still be
strong, adding to the likelihood of further cooling measures.
The median
estimate of 14 economists polled by Reuters was that urban fixed-asset
investment in May had risen 29.1 percent from a year earlier, down from 29.6
percent in January through April.
An earlier poll based on fewer responses had seen fixed investment up 29.0
percent in May from a year earlier. (For more biz stories, please visit Industry Updates)
