In an exchange programme aimed at promoting closer ties among Taiwan, Macao, Hong Kong and the mainland, more than 150 youngsters have embarked on a unique mission.

David Lie Tai-Chong, chairman of the Cross Straits Youth Cultural Exchange Programme which is organizing the tour, said the 12-day programme would serve as a platform for future exchanges.

The students, of which 114 were from Taiwan and 19 from Macao, had arrived in Hong Kong on Sunday, and visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong Baptist University and University of Hong Kong.
