Find marriage partners online (Chinanews.cn) Updated: 2006-07-25 14:56
A survey focusing on online matchmaking for the
first time shows that more than 70% of the respondents believe the Internet can
provide more opportunities for them to make friends, and over 80% accept the
phenomenon of finding marriage partners online, 30% of whom would like to have a
try.
Sponsored by the website www.yeeyoo.com,
a survey on online matchmaking conducted by Shanghai iResearch Co. since June is
approaching the end. Half of the respondents think that there are not enough
social activities for them to get to know friends of the opposite sex, while the
Internet provides more chances and online chatting is more convenient. Nearly
40% of them believe matchmaking websites can provide more chances than
traditional matchmaking companies.
However, nearly 60% are doubtful about it, as they cannot tell reliable
matchmaking websites from the false ones. "It reflects that there's much room
for improvement of the online matchmaking market. As it lacks creditability,
most people prefer to take a wait-and-see attitude," said a related chief.
As analyzed by this chief, people lacking in mutual trust is one of the main
reasons of this phenomenon. Moreover, the creditability of some traditional
matchmaking companies is rather low, and it has cut down some people's trust on
this market. Meanwhile, the virtual status of the Internet itself also
highlights the problem.
In addition, 55% of the respondents indicate they would like to receive
identity examination by the matchmaking websites, since they hope to build a
reliable circumstance for making friends. (For more biz stories, please visit Industry Updates)
