Trade: Firms feel export pinch (Shenzhen Daily) Updated: 2006-07-27 15:41
About half of Chinese firms feel that the country's exchange rate reforms
have affected their exports, according to a survey published Tuesday by the
statistics bureau and the top economic planning agency.
When surveyed in June, 49.8 percent of companies said they had felt some
impact on their exports from changes in the yuan's value, the National Bureau of
Statistics and the National Development and Reform Commission said.
That was an increase from 47.5 percent when the companies were last surveyed
in March, they said. About 85 percent of the firms are content with their level
of export orders. (For more biz stories, please visit Industry Updates)
