Shanghai's most expensive apartment complex has finally sold its first unit.

An anonymous buyer from Southeast Asia purchased a 979-square-meter duplex for 130 million yuan (US$16.25 million) at Tomson Riviera, the company said yesterday. That works out to about 130,000 yuan a square meter for a flat in development's prime building, Tower A.

Tomson Riviera comprises 220 apartments in four residential towers, each 40 to 44 stories high, along the east bank of the Huangpu River. There's also a 142,000-square-meter clubhouse.
