IT: Google to open local R&D center

Google Inc's third Chinese-based research and development center, the online
search giant announced yesterday. The company also said it will more than double
the number of Chinese sites using Google generated advertising by the end of
this year.
The company is currently searching for a suitable site for the research
center, which is scheduled to open next year, said Kaifu Lee, the company's
co-president in China.
Lee said he still doesn't know how many people the center will employ, but
staff size will be based on the quality of local engineers and other
workers.
