Beijingers' average lifespan has reached 80.09 years old, four years longer than when last surveyed in 2001, according to a joint report from the National Bureau of Statistics and the Beijing Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.

The figures suggest that Beijingers' lifespan has stretched by a year each year since 2000, 10 times quicker than the national average.
