Herman Miller to invest in China

Herman Miller Inc, the second largest furniture maker in the US, said it will invest several million dollars in China to expand business operation in Asia. It has opened a national design center in Shanghai, which will serve as headquarters for its Asia operations.

The investment also includes two factories in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, which will produce seating and other furniture products. The company said it will seek acquisition opportunities in China to accelerate expansion.
