The State Council, China's cabinet, recently urged related government departments to speed up the application process of an automotive energy-efficiency label.
According to the Regulation on Energy-Efficiency Labeling Administration, which was jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the National General Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) last year, the label was first made compulsory for household refrigerators and room air conditioners.
From developed countries' management experience, the implementation of an energy-efficiency label system can facilitate fuel consumption management and make consumers know more about vehicle oil consumption levels, operation costs and other important information.
