Overseas investment
China's State Council, or the cabinet, last week
approved the first guideline policy document for Chinese enterprises investing
overseas.
The document, titled "Opinions on encouraging and regulating
overseas investments by Chinese enterprises," was adopted at a meeting chaired
by Premier Wen Jiabao.
The document says China's overseas investments
must follow the principles of mutual respect, mutual benefit, complementarity
and win-win co-operation.
It stresses the need for proper guidance and
co-ordination of firms to prevent competition among Chinese businesses in order
to safeguard national interests.
Blogging rules
With rumours
spreading online that bloggers will be required to use their real names, the
Internet Society of China (ISC) has clarified that so far the Ministry of
Information Industry has not made any policies on the matter.
However, a
real name system will become unavoidable if China wants to standardize and
develop the blogging industry, said Huang Chengqing, ISC
secretary-general.
An official with the ISC confirmed that the society is
working on a real name system for Chinese bloggers, sparking debate throughout
the nation's online communities.
