General Atlantic to invest in a Shanghai company

General Atlantic, the leading global private equity firm, said recently it will invest in a Shanghai-based technology-driven company by the end of this year.

The total investment will be close to US$100 million. However, it is a relatively small investment for General Atlantic, compared with its other big global projects. The group became famous in China for its operation of funding China's top PC maker Lenovo's takeover of IBM's PC arm.
