Auto: Carmakers ramp up production and sales(Shanghai Daily)Updated: 2006-11-27 13:59 China's auto sales and production for the first 10 months of this year both beat last year's totals for the same period, buoyed by new models and price drops, a report said November 24. Carmakers in China sold 5.76 million units between January and October, an increase of 25.69 percent from a year earlier, according to the China Association of Automobile Corp. Auto production grew by 27.56 percent to 5.89 million units year on year.
Both production and sales for the year are expected to top seven million units,
