Trade: Futures-trade rules

China will pass a law to create a unified futures-trading regulator, Xinhua news agency said, citing Zhou Zhengqing, a member of the National People's Congress.

Zhou, speaking at a Shenzhen news conference, said the new supervisory body will have representatives from government agencies, stock exchanges and industry associations. Previous supervision of China's futures wasn't well coordinated, Zhou said. China closed futures exchanges in the 1990s after inadequate controls led to speculative trading.
