Best Buy Co, the biggest US electronics retailer, will open its first branded store in Shanghai at the end of this month, to increase its market share in the country's US$75 billion home-appliance market.

The 8,000 square-meter store is located in Xujiahui, a premier shopping district in western Shanghai, the Richfield, Minneapolis-based company said on Friday. Best Buy has so far hired 300 employees for the shop.
