China maps out auto parts development plan

The 11th five-year special development program for China's auto parts and components industry appraisal was finished recently, the China Automotive News reported. The program offered a new business opportunity for auto parts and components enterprises, said experts.

Designated by the National Development and Reform Commission, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers mapped out the program, said Zhang Zhengzhi, a researcher with the China Automotive Technology and Research Center.

China aims at forming a stable professional and scale auto parts and components matching system with a clear structure based on domestic and international markets by 2010 to bolster the automobile sector by becoming the backbone industry of the national economy and laying the foundation for making China the world's parts and components manufacturing base, according to the program.
