Mazda Motor Corp, Japan's fourth-largest auto maker, will resume sales of its Mazda3 sedans in China from early next month.

Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co will distribute Mazda3s and add a new model once sales resume, according to an e-mailed statement released by Mazda's China ventures yesterday. Changan Ford resumed production of the Mazda3 sedans on October 30 after a half-year suspension.

Mazda stopped making Mazda3s in April as the government opposed its strategy of separating production and sales into different ventures, the Nihon Keizai newspaper reported in June, without saying where it got the information.
