Distributors see brisk auto consumption in 2007

Some leading auto distributors in China said auto consumption in 2007 will have bright prospects and predicted around 20 percent growth. "Judging from China's economic policies, China's economy will continue a rapid growth and the auto market will obviously increase," SCAS Group operation vice president Wang Limin said.

"China's gross domestic product (GDP) will grow around 10 percent, and we predicted that auto sales growth will be one to 1.5 times higher than the GDP growth," he added.

According to Chengdu Sanhe Group general manager Zhang Depeng, China's auto market will grow more than 15 percent in 2007. He also said that starting from 2007, a large number of consumers will change vehicles, and this group is likely to look to mid- and high-grade vehicle replacements.So the mid- and high-grade vehicle market will be further expanded. Zhan also added that mid- and high-grade vehicles have advantages in services.
